DESM

Digital Electronic
Support Measure

DESM is a fully Digital ESM system, sold in Western and Easterns Countries. It is based on a wide-open “folded” Digital Receiver architecture and provides very good performances. The Direction-Finding measurement is based on both Amplitude and Phase comparison, achieving very good accuracy in spite the small antenna array dimension. DESM has a large library and is ready to be integrated with CMS Multifunction Console.

DESM & AESAJ Integrated ESM-ECM Systems

DRIAC is an advanced “all-digital” Integrated ESM-ECM System based on the state of art technology of Direct RF sampling, up to 18 GHz, providing very good performances by means of few digital modules, Software/Firmware controlled.

Therefore, beside the high performances and reliability, DRIAC exhibits also a very good cost-effectiveness and a minimal logistic support effort.

The passive section consists of the well-known DESM system, a Digital ESM based on multiple Digital Receivers (DRX). The ECM section is based on a Solid State Active Electronic Steering Antenna for Jamming (AESAJ) unit that receives the DRFM signals from DESM and radiate them at high Effective Radiated Power (ERP).

DRIAC results in a robust ESM-ECM System that can be easily installed in different types of platform.

NEC

Naval Electronic Chaff

NEC (Naval Electronic Chaff) System is an effective final protection for a ship against the most advanced anti-ship missile systems. NEC is composed of a Drone and an advanced Payload.

The drone can leave suddenly the ship, fly according to a pre-programmed path and come back to the ship.

The payload is able to generate a credible target with very high RCS, to seduce and distract the antiship missile.

DRIAC-A

(Airborne
& UAV Applications)

Integrated ESM-ECM Systems for Airborne Application

DRIAC-A is a new Digital Integrated EW System capable of providing very advanced performances by exploiting very few SW controlled electronic modules, so being able to meet the changing requirements of the modern airborne environment in a very cost effective way.

DRIAC-A can be provided for fighters or for helos / transport aircrafts.

Beside the features of an advanced digital ESM, DRIAC-A is capable of producing both Self Protection Jamming (SPJ) and a very effective Electronic Attack Jamming (EAJ) in a very wide frequency band. EAJ is very useful in airborne operations because it facilitates the platform penetration in a hostile territory.

AEC

Airborne Electronic Chaff (decoy)

Since many years, Virtualabs started its own study to develop a cost-effective Airborne Electronic Chaff (AEC).

AEC  is a small expendable capable of re-transmitting toward radars/seekers a credible strong signal. It can be housed in a standard 1” by 1” chaff launcher. Recently we considered also a 2”x1” chaff Launcher.
